I also like that unlike most indie RPGs, Zeboyd is much more careful in terms of how it treats its influences. Reading a Lovecraftian plant speaking like it's in an old play and then hearing it say it in modern indie RPG comedic dialogue is great. So you can read the old English way first, then Zeboyd's take on it and it's just funny every time. Because "modern english" is actually Zeboyd's comedic take on the lines. But my suggestion is to not just use one but to switch back and forth for -every-line. The game also has both Ye Olde English and Modern English for the Shakespearian stuff which can be toggled at any time via the D-Pad. I am playing on Challenging for reference and I do think RPG veterans should at least start there rather than normal difficulty as I think that may be too easy. They do make trash mob fights easy since you can spam them right away, but we'll see how long that lasts in terms of difficulty scaling. You can use them right away, but they grow stronger as battles go on and on, which emphasizes saving them. I do like what they did with the combination attack system. It's combat system is based on the CSH system, but it has its own unique touches here and there. :)īeen having a blast with the game so far. Crossing our fingers that people enjoy the game.
